PSG Edges Marseille in a Shootout to Lift French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious cup on fourteen separate occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past Marseille in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the showdown featuring the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

Yet, Marseille struck twice late to seize a shock advantage. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the final seconds to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all scored with composure for PSG to seal a 4-1 penalty victory.

The record winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the last thirteen seasons.
